Good value for money. My room had a great view. Free wifi appreciated.
Traffic was noisy on the road outside my room. Not a particularly busy road but a straight stretch where traffic moves fast. Not a problem for me but it would bother many people.

Our room was very clean and bright. The owner (Heather) was just lovely, she booked dinner in a nearby restraunt for us and also organised a cab, extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely recomment staying there.

Very froendly welcome - lovely to be offered tea & biscuits on arrival. Also liked the breakfast - continental but plenty of variety and flexible times.
Inital impression from outside not great. Could do with a new external sign.

Our stay at the Grampian was delightful. It is in a beautiful Geogian townhouse. Heather and Maureen were excellent hosts. The breakfasts were great. And the location and view of the river were superb.

We arrived rather late in the evening, yet were welcomed warmly. The breakfast was very good. The owner was very friendly and as she had traveled extensively, was very knowledgeable about other destinations.
The exterior is misleading.

We were pleasantly surprised by the up-market feel and quality of the hotel (having originally thought that it was a simple B&B). The hospitality of the owner was first class - we received personal care and attention as well as friendly advice on sightseeing and local excursions. Breakfast was a luxurious scrambled eggs and salmon dish. In view of the comfort and luxury, we felt the hotel was terrific value for money - and wish we could have stayed another night - but we had to move on with our travel plans. Highly recommended and fully deserving of the 3-stars.

The room was great - very nice decor and furniture in general. The owner is a very nice and gracious lady.
This is not a hotel - it's a B&B - |I guess I was fooled by the title. As much as I liked the decor there were a number of issues I had: 1. I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come and let me into the place - the bell raised no response and I had to then hunt around to find a telephone number to let them know I was at the door. It then took 10 minutes for the owner to arrive! 2. Great room but nowhere to put a case (I don't empty my case when staying a single night) and in the bathroom no where to put a toiled bag whilst getting ready.

The Grampian Hotel is a home from home, a high standard of cleanliness, good locaton and very comfortable. Heather the proprietor was welcoming and very informative on the local area. There is happy and easy-going atmosphere in the Hotel and it would be an ideal place for families. I would definitely stay there again as a base to explore the surrounding area especially nearby St. Andrews.
